BRIDGING YOU TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Modification

Many mortgage companies are willing to offer a mortgage modification today. There are different programs available to help you. Our experienced attorneys can assist with a modification both outside and inside of bankruptcy. Modifications can help you catch up on your payments if you are behind. Modifications can help reduce your mortgage payments and your interest rate. One other advantage of a modification is it may help you reduce the total amount you owe on your home to an amount that your home is worth.

Modifications in Bankruptcy:

Sometimes there are advantages to seeking a modification after a Chapter 7 bankruptcy or during a Chapter 13 bankruptcy. Sometimes the bank will be more willing to work with you after you receive a discharge of your debts. In Chapter 13, the court orders a modification mediation and orders the bank to cooperate. This can be a big advantage if the bank is giving you the run around because the court can hold the bank accountable.

Why hire an experienced attorney to represent you in a Modification:

The advantages of having an attorney from the Law Offices of Robert M. Geller, P.A. assisting you are numerous:

  1. They know how the process works. They can obtain all the documents you will need to complete the process
  2. They can assist you with the different types of modifications and assess whether your loan qualifies for different programs.
  3. They can advise you if you may qualify for a principal reduction of your loan.
  4. They can help you determine whether it would be to your advantage to seek a modification either after a Chapter 7 bankruptcy or during a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

The Law Offices of Robert M. Geller, P.A. has helped many homeowners keep their homes through modification and has achieved principal reductions.
