John Wierzbowski’s Testimonial

Transcription:

I was previously pretty well off, living an upper-middle-class life and so forth. What happened was I actually lost my career due to things I really couldn’t control. And of course, because of my age, I’m over 50, I wasn’t able to find work that paid as well. I was actually too proud. I didn’t come to see Mr. Geller until long after I should have. By then I’d exhausted all my retirement savings and any money I had trying to pay my bills and trying not to go bankrupt. I’d always felt a big stigma about bankruptcy. Then I actually got to the point that I was fearing a judgment from a financial company that I owed a lot of money to.

I was actually hiding my vehicles around the corner about a block and a half away so they wouldn’t be seized. I could still make it to work, but that added extra time on my commute to walk to my vehicle. Also, I wouldn’t answer the door, wouldn’t answer the phone. Basically, you’re on the run from creditors and some creditors work with you and some are just predacious. I had a very predacious one.

Bankruptcy Help for John Wierzbowski

One thing that really helped is, coming in, I wasn’t treated like any kind of a deadbeat. I think that people, most people in my situation, who are forced to consider a bankruptcy are very proud and have not really had a problem before and you’re just, you’ve had circumstances that put you in that position.

It helped to be treated well when I came here. There was no stigma whatsoever. Something else that really helped me was that I had an attorney previously trying to stave off the creditors. When I asked him to handle my bankruptcy, he wanted the whole payment upfront. When you’re broke and not able to pay your bills, you can’t pay a big legal fee upfront. Mr. Geller and his firm had a payment plan, which is actually almost paid off now. And that enabled me to salvage what I could and what I have left before and during the bankruptcy.

There was absolutely no hope for ever paying that money back. When you get so far behind and you can’t regain your income that you used to have you’re never going to be able to get ahead of those bills.

Light at the End of the Tunnel for John Wierzbowski

Now at least I have some light at the end of the tunnel. I still have some things to pay back. Of course you can’t get out of your IRS debt. You can’t get out of your student loan debt, that sort of thing. But I’m making slow, steady progress to the upside instead of sinking slowly. You know I’m ascending a long, long mountain, but I’m probably at least a third of the way up now, considering your representation.

There’s a lot that really matters besides just the expertise. I looked over his record before I hired him and then saw that he had tremendous expertise and a tremendous amount of experience at this. But what I also sensed from my time in the law enforcement community is that it helps if you are hiring someone that is connected within the legal community.

It makes a big difference when you have an attorney that’s going to go before people. An attorney that has a stellar reputation and an expert at bankruptcy and these financial matters. And I think he carries a lot more weight rather than someone you may hire for half his price from, you know, Podunk city who doesn’t know any of the judges, who doesn’t know any of the trustees. I believe Mr. Geller has a lot more credibility due to his, experience, his knowledge, and his connections here. Things went smoothly. And I’d recommend the Geller Law Firm because of customer service, the staff, their role within the bankruptcy law community, and the payment plan. And of course, knowledge and experience.
