I knew I wish I would've called them first this law firm has the upmost compassion for their clients cares about them on case by case instead of just a number or how many cases they do Outstanding can't say enough about them. Hired this firm for bankruptcy and everything was able to get done in a timely manner. The only complaint I have is about the portal they have for messaging. The consultant and legal assistants we worked with were all wonderful, but the lawyer, Jerry Funt, never once responded to any of our questions through the message portal. I was told that it could take 2 or 3 days for a response which I found reasonable. But I never got a response from the messages I sent to him. I was told he was not available over the phone and to contact through the portal, but he doesn't seem to use the portal.

I had a very disappointing experience with the Law Office of Robert M. Geller. I hired them to handle my Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but they did not complete the work and eventually referred me to another law firm instead. Despite this, they kept the money I had paid. I felt completely unsupported throughout the process — communication was slow, my case was not advanced, and I did not receive the services I contracted them for. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this law firm. I would not hire them again, nor would I refer anyone to them.

What a disappointment! First, you're promised a consultation with an attorney; but you get one legal assistant and then another legal assistant, who are not capable of answering your questions and giving legal advice. My questions went unanswered. In fact, I was given wrong information to a question I asked. Next, what they charge is absolutely ridiculous!!!! They want between 3K and 4K to handle a simple Chapter 7 bk, with only 5 unsecured credit cards; no assets, nothing complicated! Absolutely ridiculous! Mr. Geller, himself called me, and attempted to "justify" his ridiculously high fees! I happen to live in an RV...He said oh, I see a problem with that! Ridiculous! True as it is, that it has wheels and can be moved, mine cannot be legally moved IT HAS NO LICENSE TAG! It would be illegal to move it off where it now sits! THEN he said, "you would have to prove that Social Security is your only source of income, with bank statements, etc." Again ridiculous, all that takes is a few keystrokes and a few minutes, and download a copy of my Social Security benefit letter! Another few keystrokes and a few minutes! Then he says "If I charged $1,000 I wouldn't be around very long!" How is that MY problem? Then he says bankruptcies are alot of work....really? A paralegal, fills out the forms, the attorney and these days even a non-attorney can attend the creditors meeting, and then there is just the discharge hearing! That's it! This is not to say that some bankruptcies are complicated by any means, but one as simple as mine, is not rocket science. Shop around, these people are crazy!

I would agree with one of the post from a week ago about this law firm. When I initially went through the process of filing for the bankruptcy. The paralegal and whomever I was in contact with was pretty decent from the start. Replying to messages that were sent into the portal. However it was not a timely reply back. About two months after my meeting of creditors I asked the attorney if my case was discharged and she advise no but will let me know as soon as it is. I received my discharge papers within the next couple of days from that and it’s going on for a month and no response from them regarding my discharge. I sent a note in the portal and still no reply, but they want you to make sure your payments are being made on time. Will not be referring them to any of my friends nor family member for assistance.

I give this firm a 1 star, because my bankruptcy, has, in fact, discharged. However, the fact that it, LITERALLY, took a year (Started May 2024. Discharged April 2025) to do is crazy!
To boot, my experience with these guys has been horrible. Starting with communication. They insist on logging into a portal for “effective communication”. I am, however, convinced that is for their sake only… for the sole purpose of transmitting communications to the client in re docs needed. I say this, because I have sent several, on top of several messages through the portal at different times. Most cases it take a minimum of a week to get a reply. In other cases, I never received a reply. Getting someone to help on the phone is just as frustrating. The receptionist will not patch you through to an attorney, nor paralegal. They will insist on using the portal, that yields little to no results.
Leading up to discharge, I was instructed to contact a debtor for account information. I did so, and said debtor conveyed that because I was in bankruptcy, they would not speak with me concerning any matter in re my account. The attorney on record would have to contact them for such information.
I relayed that message to the attorney, only for them to continue to insist that I am not doing what is asked of me, which is a cause of delay.🤦🏾♂️
For the sake of time, I will digress from MANY other circumstances that I encountered with the Law Offices of Robert M. Geller, and conclude that, now, in the wake of discharge, I am seeing items on my credit report that I was specifically told were discharged. Their 720 Credit lady that they connect clients to after discharge says that the items I am seeing didn’t not discharge, nor were they supposed to. Now… back to the portal… a week later, still no response to my message to Attorney. Not even a simple acknowledgement of receipt of my message.
In all, I strongly advise seeking a different law firm to represent you. I, literally, can not think of one pro of retaining Robert Geller’s firm, outside of the fact that, ultimately, the bankruptcy was discharged… a whole year later, though.

My family lost $500 and never even got to file for bankruptcy. I was told I made too much money to qualify for Chapter 7 after they took my payment — something that could have easily been determined by checking my income tax information beforehand.
They canceled at least three of our appointments, yet still had the nerve to blame us for not completing paperwork. And when they cancel an appointment for “family emergency “ or “sick” the next appointment isn’t for another 3 weeks. The staff was rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful throughout the process.
I truly regret not listening to the warnings from others in the community. Do yourself a favor and RUN — do not go with the Law Office of Robert Geller. Save your money, time, and dignity.

Hello, over a year ago I found myself against a wall financially. I am a single mother of one, but over the past 7 years I was raising my deceased sister’s three teenagers and caring for my 85 year old grandmother; all while trying to work a full time and very demanding job. Between a very large rent, electric and utility bills, and not to mention feeding and clothing 4 children, I found myself broken both mentally and financially. I was also being sued during this time.
